I would highly recommend OnPoint for both Inpatient and Outpatient coding coverages.  In addition to providing the exact matching coding personalities to best fit your coding team, OnPoint will provide credentialed and very knowledgeable coders that are both professional and productive with your accounts.  OnPoint has assisted our coding team for over three years and continues to assist us with staff coding coverages, coding education and coding audits on an individual coder basis, and with group coding reviews on the different DRG’s and E/M leveling.

The Fairchild Medical Center Coders along with myself as the Director of HIM wanted to make sure the external coding auditor that was placed on our specific assignment was very educated, personable, easy to understand, and knowledgeable about our specific medical staff documentation styles and the different templates that may cause problems with specific documentation issues recognized frequently by the coding team.  The OnPoint remote coders became very versed with our accounts and medical staff documentation quickly.  Weekend coverage is not an issue at any time with OnPoint coding staff!

I would like to share with other coding teams and coding managers that it was important to us to be able to plan in advance and provide specific outcomes we wanted to achieve when participating in our internal and external coding audits.  OnPoint provided our coders additional chart audit tools that captured the important criteria and was easy to implement and continue to use going forward so the coders could identify their progress and improvements and keep tracking their coding progress into the future with or without the coding consultant assigned to our account.

Communications are timely and anytime we need anything OnPoint calls back immediately and checks in frequently to make sure all objectives and coding projects are on track and going well.  I cannot compliment Mike Harrington the Director of Business Development enough due to his diligence in always making us feel as if we are his only customer when they have several clients.  Mike and the OnPoint Coding Team communicate timely and clearly on any project assigned to them and we have immediate contact with any of the coders assigned to our account.  Another plus for OnPoint is they do not assign beginner coders to your account or waste your time with coders wanting to learn on your specific cases.  So many coding companies tend to send out beginning coders that fail when placed on external accounts and OnPoint provides very experienced and certified coders that are well versed in the coding rules.

OnPoint also works with managers and coders on any feedback or specifics identified in the project scopes to make sure not only the coders benefit, but everyone involved including the coding manager and Director of HIM so many objectives can be accomplished successfully for all involved.  I also would like to commend OnPoint for their very reasonable rates for their coding services.  I encourage any other hospital regardless if you are acute care or critical access to please contact me for any recommendations when reviewing contract coding bids, coding coverages, or suggestions for the excellent customer service OnPoint has provided for over three years for my facility.  I highly recommend them based on the successful outcomes we have achieved with their on-going participation.

I reached out to OnPoint with two staffing dilemmas:  I couldn’t fill vacant positions, and my team was ramping a very compressed go-live for a computer-assisted coding and CDI platform build.  Not a good place to find yourself.

When partnering with OnPoint, the devil was truly in the details.  I wanted coders who had very specific skill sets and I line-itemed my needs for the OnPoint team.  OnPoint took the time to really listen to what I was looking for, down to the coder’s personality type.  They even reinforced my asks in writing to be sure they were recruiting directly to my needs.  Within days, they began to fill my inbox with exceptional candidates, most having met all of the requirements I’d asked for.

After interviewing the candidates, we selected the best ones for our needs, and months later, those same coders are still with us – they’ve become part of the family, and they’ll stay with us through go-live.  We’ve been able to completely clear our backlog, and our DNFB is cleaner than ever.  And, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that the responsiveness of the OnPoint team is THE BEST I’ve ever experienced.  No matter the issue, no matter the time of day, they’re right there to help problem solve and make it right.

I’m going to miss working with the OnPoint team when this engagement is over, but I know that they will be there for my team when needs arise.  Honesty, trust, and exceptional customer service have made me an OnPoint fan for life.  Thank you for getting my team back to their happy place!

I have worked for various contract agencies in my coding career but I have to say my experience with OnPoint has been the best! Myra Phillips, RN, CCDS

Working in Hawaii had always been a dream of mine so I was very surprised when OnPoint reached out and told me they had my dream job available, an onsite CDS role in Hawaii.   At that time I was on another assignment and had to make the difficult decision to pass on the opportunity.  OnPoint respected my decision and agreed to stay in touch.

When I found my assignment coming to an end last year I placed a call to my recruiter at OnPoint, Victor Sanchez, to see if we could still make my dream come true.   Not only were they able to make my dream come true by placing me in Hawaii but I ended up loving the Hospital System and CDI team so much that I decided to relocate to Hawaii and take the job full-time!

OnPoint is great company to work for, the staff are friendly and professional.  They listen to you if you have questions or concerns and are always just a phone call away.  I always felt like the company had my back and was there for me throughout my assignment.  I recommend them to anyone that values a company that cares about their best interest.
